| | Donors Embrace New Venture
The intersection of philanthropy and investment and the success of Venture Sinai inspired the creation of Venture Sinai Women in the summer of 2009. The response to the idea was overwhelming! Co-Chairs Camille Dan, Lisa Draper and Sheryl Salter recruited 25 women to join this exciting group within weeks of its inception.
“Our group will support projects, research and clinical care that impacts women. People are really attracted by the prospect of joining a small group of like-minded philanthropists that offers the opportunity to engage and learn,” say the Co-Chairs.
The group gathered for their inaugural selection evening in November where they chose to support Alicia Tone, naming her as the 2009 Venture Sinai Women Fellow.
At a celebratory event on May 11, Venture Sinai members and several researchers from the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute gathered at the Hospital for a reception and lab tours. It was a unique opportunity for members to gather and hear updates about their investments in Lunenfeld research.
