At the Intersection of Philanthropy and Investment
Venture Sinai brings together the social good of philanthropy, the intellectual curiosity of research, and a passion for healthcare. Most importantly, it provides an opportunity for a group of philanthropists to apply their experience and business savvy to an investment in the exciting field of medical science.
Members of Venture Sinai make an annual financial commitment for up to five years. Each year the group meets in a social setting, hears from three top Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute scientists and collectively decides where to direct their support.
Created in 2009 by Jeff Rosenthal, Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation Board Member, Venture Sinai has grown from one group to three within a year.
“I think that this is a philanthropic model that speaks to the interests and engagement of a new generation of donors,” says Jeff Rosenthal. Jeff says that he can foresee a day when the different Venture Sinai groups will be contributing over a million dollars a year to research at Mount Sinai. With this philanthropy success story, the sky’s the limit!
Members of Venture Sinai are invited to track their investment through ongoing communications and invitations to exclusive Venture Sinai receptions, tours and updates with their selected researchers at the Lunenfeld and Mount Sinai events.
